An emergency is not necessarily a disaster (earthquake, power outage, etc.). It is also for families who are out of work and need to use their money for things other than food. Here you will find a little bit of information for both.

Gossner Milk
I have ordered this milk before. It is actually good and I love having it in my pantry. We'll use it in cereal, cooking and even drink plain. You cannot really tell the difference, unlike powdered milk. The rootbeer milk is great! My dear husband loves it. I am currently in the process of seeing if I can order it directly from them versus from another seller. If you can get your hands on it somewhere, I would get it. They also have whipping cream and half-n-half.

Peaches!
It is time for peaches. Yum! You can make peach jam (freezer or canned), freezer peach pies, canned sliced peaches, and frozen sliced peaches (specially yummy for fruit smoothies). If you have a dehydrator, you can even have dried peaches.
*See my Freezer Peach Pie Filling under "Freezer" for an idea.
*If you want to freeze sliced peaches, you will need to put the cleaned peaches in boiling water for about 2-3 minutes. Take them out immediately and place them in ice cold water. When you can handle them, slip the peeling off, slice and then put into a bowl. Sprinkle with Fruit Fresh and stir. Place on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper in a single layer and freeze. When frozen, break the peaches up, if needed, and place in a freezer zip lock back, date and put back into the freezer.
*If you want to make peach jam, get a box of pectin and follow the directions for either canned or frozen peaches.
